Deputy Grand Matrons’ Council meets annually during Grand Communication. The
Council plans and participates in the Valerie E. Newsome Fashion Show/Social
Hour.
They make a yearly contribution to Cecelia Dunlap Grand
Chapter.
The Council also serves annually as hostesses to guest from
visiting jurisdictions during our annual Grand Communications.
Past Grand Worthy
Patron, Jeffery Sullivan, in 1984-1985 recommended to the Grand Chapter to
re-align the Chapters and Districts to be consistent with the Most
Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Kentucky.
Prior to the re-alignment, District Deputy Grand
Matrons served with two Grand Worthy Matrons-- the Grand Worthy Matron who
appointed her for one year and a second year with the next in-coming Grand
Matron. The realignment was implemented in 1989-1990. Now, DDGM’s serve with
the Grand Matrons who appoint them in said capacity. With the realignment
these changes were made: Central District became South Central, North
Central became Central, Western and Far Western Districts remained the same.
However, changes are made in the chapters.
Mountain District remained the same; Eastern
District replaced all of the Northern District and some of the former
Central and South Central Districts.
