The District Deputy Grand Matrons Project, Worthy Matrons’ Project and Worthy Patrons’ Project was established to assist the Grand Chapter to secure fund.

Sis. Anna Mae Jones, Grand Worthy Matron in 1958, appointed seven DDGM’s.  She asked each of them to be responsible for at least thirty dollars at each Grand Communications.  This fundraiser has continued through the years.  The interest was enhanced in 1979.  The first place winner received the crown of the Queen of Cecelia Dunlap, a plaque and 10% of the reported funds.  A second and third place was recognized and all deputies received 10% of whatever funds were reported.

“The Patron of the Year” project was an effort of the Brothers to help in the finances.  This project was planned by Bro. Arthur King, Grand Worthy Patron, and Bro. Harry Fields, Grand Associate Patron, in 1980.  It was fully implemented in 1982.  At that time it was to assist the Relief Fund.

Not all patrons have participated.  There have been many first place winners from these chapters:

Lily White No. 132, Phyllis Wheatley No. 39, Queen Esther No. 4, Amaranth No. 46, Dorcas No. 29, Larue No. 110, Queen Vashti No. 37, Rising Star No. 102, Rose of Sharon No. 56, Naomi No. 121 and Magnolia No. 84.

“The Worthy Matron of the Year” project is a newer project. It has created much interest and has been a source of funds for the Grand Chapter. These Matrons noted as first place winners since its inception in 1987 are:
